Arthur Conan Doyle Posted August 15, 2014

Arthur Conan Doyle the creator of Sherlock Holmes had a house in the forest a few hundred yards from Twin Oaks Guest House. This is pointed out to people on the Open Top Bus (red route) which stops at the end of the road. It goes to Longdown Activity Farm, New Forest Wildlife Park, Lyndhurst, Burley, Ringwood Brewery, Fordingbridge and Sandy Balls. The red route links to the green route for Exbury Gardens, Beaulieu (motor museum and Stately Home) Lymington and Brockenhurst. The red route also links with the blue route for Keyhaven and Hurst Castle (reached by boat), Barton on Sea and Burley. Why not take the red route to Lyndhurst, switch to the green route to Lymington and the blue route to Burley and then back on the red route to Cadnam. But be quick the open top bus only runs during the summer months from the 28th June to the 14th September.
